Read the real thing, in a language you are still learning.

Tuttu is a Chrome side panel. Hover a sentence and it tells you what it says. Mark the words you know and it stops telling you those — until what is left is only the words you actually need.

50 words a day free, every day, on any account. $11 / month for unlimited.

Hover a sentence

The sentence is translated, and every word in it is glossed. Nothing is added to the page — the marks are ranges, so your copy-paste comes back unchanged.

Press a word you know

new → learning → known, one press each way. A word marked known is never glossed again, in either mode.

Switch to scan

Once most of a page is words you know, stop hovering. Scan reads the viewport and lists only what is left — the few words actually standing between you and the article.

The problem it actually solves

At the start, nothing on the page makes sense, so translating everything is right. Later almost everything makes sense — and the hard part becomes spotting the few words that do not. Those are two opposite behaviours, and the thing that moves you from one to the other is your own word list.
